American Idol is a singing competition in which television viewers choose the winner. The show is hosted by Ryan Seacrest with Simon Cowell, Randy Jackson (II), and Paula Abdul acting as judges.

Biographies

Ryan Seacrest

Ryan Seacrest was born in Atlanta, Georgia on December 24th 1974. He attend the University of Georgia. In 2003 Ryan made the 50 Most Beautiful People list in People Magazine. Ryan Seacrest currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Simon Cowell

Simon Cowell was born October 7, 1959 in Brighton, EastSussex, England, UK. Simon is 5'9" tall. His parents are Julie and Eric Cowell. Simon dropped out of school at the age of 16. He has 3 half-brothers, John, Michael and Tony, a half-sister June. Simon has two biological siblings, Lindsay Elizabeth and Nicholas. Simon Cowell is a vegetarian.

Paula Abdul

Paula Abdul was born June 19, 1962 in San Fernando, California. Paula is the daughter of Harry and Loraine Abdul. Her parents divorced when she was a child. Paula is 5'2" tall. She began dance lessons at the age of eight and won a scholarship to tap dancing school. As a child, Michael Bolton was Paula's babysitter. Paula Abdul attended Van Nuys high school where she was senior class president and head cheerleader. Paula graduated high school in 1980. She eventually joined the L.A. Lakers cheerleaders and became head cheerleader/choreographer after a short period of time. Paula Abdul's measurements are 34B-23-36.

The Jacksons came to Paula Abdul to choreograph their 1984 "Torture" video. Along with the Jacksons, Paula has also worked with the Rolling Stones, George Michael, Deborah Gibson, Dolly Parton, Janet Jackson and ZZ Top. Paula has won a Grammy, 7 MTV video awards, 2 Emmy awards, and 2 People's Choice Awards. She's had two #1 albums and seven #1 singles.

Paula Abdul married Emilio Estevez on April 29, 1992. The couple honeymooned in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. They divorced a year later in 1997. Paula married Brad Beckerman on October 24, 1996 and divorced in 1997.

Randy Jackson

Randy Jackson was born in Baton Rouge Louisiana on June 23, 1956. Randy is 5' 8 1/2" tall. He's been married twice. He's currently married to Erika Riker and has 2 children. He has 1 child to his previous marrage. Randy played bass for Journey and Eddie Money.
